A morning spent splashing + running around in the fountains at union station.
This past sunday, we grabbed a couple towels, slathered cohen in sunscreen + headed down to union station for some fun in the sun. I have walked past the fountains outside this historic building dozens of times, always admiring the serene water patterns. Kids are always running through them so we thought it would be fun to visit with cohen. However, we had no idea how much cohen would truly love it.
There was no hesitation or fear from my little boy as we walked up to the water fountains. He went running in with the biggest smile on his face, his legs moving as quick as he could go. For the next 30 minutes, I could not get him to slow down either. Cohen ran through, under + over every drop of water he could, laughing so loud the entire time. He was sopping wet but with the sun on his shoulder, he didn’t have a care in the world. I loved seeing his endless smile + hearing the pitter patter of his feet in the water underfoot. Ryan + I took turns playing + chasing him while blake napped in the shade. I don’t know what I enjoyed more, running around with cohen or watching him + ryan interact together as I watched a few feet away.
Once we were able to finally convince cohen to take a break, we took refuge from the heat inside the great hall of union station. We grabbed a couple drinks from the terminal bar + found a little spot to relax together. We had such a wonderful time, my little family of 4. Cohen kept talking about the water and how he got so wet for the remainder of the day. It was honestly, one of the best mornings + one that I will hold close to my heart for years to come.
