I cannot begin to describe the deep gratitude and love that ryan, myself and our bebe-on-the-way have felt during our pregnancy. From the moment we told people we were expecting, we have had endless support, an outpouring of kind words + advice and just so much love surrounding us. This could not be more evident than with the multiple showers that have been thrown for our boy over the past few weeks. We have been spoiled beyond belief and I cannot even put into words how much we appreciate it all.

My aunt and grandma hosted a beautiful brunch that was attended by so many of my cousins, aunts, extended family and friends from my mom’s side of the family. We sat out on my grandma’s back patio on a hot but gorgeous saturday afternoon and played silly shower games, enjoyed a delicious spread of brunch specialties and got to catch up with a lot of people that I don’t see nearly as often as I would like. The shower was extremely thoughtful and you could tell that my family put so much effort into making it a day I will never forget.

My sister-in-law, mother-in-law and one of her closest friends threw me a nautical-themed shower as well, attended by all of my closest girlfriends and family on ryan’s side. No detail was over looked and the ‘ships ahoy… it’s a boy’ party was honestly one of the highlights of my entire pregnancy. All the food was themed around the sea and the stunning tres leches cake was the show-stopper with it’s fancy anchor detailing.

I also was surprised with a shower from all the ladies at work over lunch one day and was blown away by everyone’s generosity to deck us out with all things needed for our boy. I swear my car was packed to the brim with gifts… which I am still trying to sort through and organize in our home.

Ryan and I are so appreciative of all the time, love, effort, thought and work put in by those around us, as we prepare to bring our boy into this world. It is the best feeling to know that so many of our family + friends are as excited as we are for his arrival and the baby showers thrown for him are the kindest and most overwhelmingly loving way of showing it.
