So apparently a second baby shower is not only acceptable but there is even a name for the occasion. My baby sprinkle was just a couple weeks ago + was the sweetest way to celebrate our baby girl’s soon-to-be arrival.
My mother-in-law, mom + close family friend, brenda, hosted all of my nearest + dearest for a beautiful celebration of our growing baby girl. Every detail was so perfectly planned + executed. The huge spread of food was insanely delicious + we had the cutest little baby-bum cake too! Pink, grey + mint decor were tucked around the room, a nice girly feel without being over the top. Regardless of my abilities (or lack of ability) to drink right now, I appreciate when a party caters to the guests! So, everyone got to enjoy the ‘mom-osa’ bar + sip on some tasty drinks. Don’t worry, I stuffed my face with all the food so I didn’t feel too deprived.
Instead of traditional games, my mom set up a couple little diy stations for people to visit throughout the party. I now have quite the collection of headbands for our baby girl and some personalized diapers adorned with little notes + jokes. Everyone then joined me to open some oh-so-cute and much needed little girl items. I could not be more grateful for the shower (sprinkle) of generosity from everyone… this baby is going to be so fashionable!
Obviously the best part of the party were the guests. I was blessed to have so many of my friends + family come and spend their afternoon with me + my bump. The insanely-talented jenna sparks was so kind to also capture the day and help me remember this special time in my life. Ryan + cohen made an appearance towards the end of the party too. Cohen helped me open a few of my gifts… he was particularly interested in all the books + a couple of the pink pacifiers adorning the top of a present.
There are few times in most of our adult-lives when we get the opportunity to surround ourselves with the people we hold so close in our hearts. I am blessed beyond words to have had the opportunity to do so + for it to be such a celebratory day as well. This little girl’s arrival is only a few short weeks away, yet the love for her is already shining so bright.
