A weekend getaway can do numbers to reset your system and take you away from the day-to-day. So, when the outlook lodge reached out to me about coming to stay on their property, I quickly replied yes without even checking the calendar.
After a couple emails and some quick childcare planning (thank you again grandma + grandpa!), ryan + I were driving south on i-25 for a weekend away. The following 48 hours were spent relaxing in green mountain falls which is a cute little area just outside of colorado springs. Endless hours were logged lounging in front of a roaring fire, surrounded by hundreds of pine trees, endless lounge-wear and the best company.
The outlook lodge is a victorian home, built in 1889 that has been completely renovated and/or re-furbished. All of the charm + details… like the beautiful woodwork, original fireplace and stain-glass windows are pristine. They blend perfectly with the new furnishings, hardware, lighting + antique pieces throughout the space. The lodge strikes a perfect balance between rustic + contemporary.
Additionally, the expansive wrap-around porch practically begs for visitors to ease into a rocking chair and take in the natural elements. When the temperatures dip, a large outdoor fire pit is perfect for roasting marshmallows and storytelling.
Time truly feels like it slows down at the outlook lodge. While ryan + I were pleased as punch to have the place to ourselves, we could not help but think about how fun it would be to come back with a group. The main house has a large family suite, complete with a master bedroom, two bunk rooms and two full bathrooms. We stayed in the deluxe suite on the main level of the lodge. Our beautiful room had a large parlor which attached to the bedroom + ensuite bath. Next door is a two-story carriage house with 4 additional rooms that looked stunning from outside. Likewise, all the rooms on property are steps from each other and have access to the main houses’ shared living, dining + chef’s kitchen.
The outlook lodge has been featured on the today show and in travel + leisure magazine. Honestly, we were blown away with every last detail during our stay. The finishes, in-room details, furnishing, lighting, amenities and overall feel of the property were more than I would have imagined. We ventured into the charming ‘town’ for dinner one evening. Though, we spent the majority of our weekend in our lounge-wear within the lodge.
These type of quick getaways are some of my favorite trips to take. I could not be more grateful to the outlook lodge for hosting us + making this trip so memorable. Every detail was taken care of, all we had to do was kick our feet up and soak in the scenery.
