The art of storytelling is a gift we all hold. We tell + write dozens of stories a day… some are elaborate events that take us on an emotional roller-coaster. While others are little tidbits, interactions, random events + places we visit. Likewise, theses stories… big + small, are the stories that make up our lives.
I was recently introduced (thank you again peyton!) to a company that has taken the art of storytelling to a whole other level. Danielle + hillary are the sister-team behind our spare change. This jewelry company’s humble beginnings started on a cross country road trip + the endless interactions they encountered. Coupled with a center consul filled with spare change from the many exchanges they had along travels. So, to commemorate the trip, their spare change was made into jewelry which served as a physical reminder of the stories they wrote + the hands they touched.
Our spare change and the beautiful pieces they make with old coins + metals are all about storytelling. In addition to taking a collection of coins and repurposing them into beautiful pieces, danielle + hillary are honoring the hands the coins have touched along the way. Recently, I worked with our spare change to design a hand-crafted gold necklace from a repurposed metal. Furthermore, I chose to have it customized with the word ‘grateful’ across the bar. This word felt very fitting to my personal life and the gratitude I have to the graceful art of storytelling.
To say I am obsessed with this necklace is a complete understatement. I wear this piece often… layered with my other bar necklace or as a statement piece on its own. The versatility is endless and its message is a daily reminder to bring gratitude with me everyday, through the big + small moments that mean so much.
Honestly, I am just so happy to share this amazing company with all of you. If I could encourage even just one of you to find some inspiration + excitement about the stories you write + hear each day, I would be so blessed. And, to giveaway such a sentimental + beautiful piece of jewelry right before the holidays, could there be anything better?
Now the fun stuff for you… our spare change has graciously offered to give away one custom piece to a reader of my blog! The winner will get to pick the piece of their choosing from their collection of collected coins + repurposed metals. To win, there are 2 easy steps…
