The newest addition to the rino neighborhood is call, a restaurant focused on fresh, vibrant + craveable food. It doesn’t hurt that their expansive patio is insanely photogenic.
I had been reading about a new restaurant concept opening in the bustling rino neighborhood for months. Two former homes were being transformed into a dual-restaurant operating (and opening) separately from each other. The white building would be a more casual cafe putting out fresh baked pastries, salads + sandwiches, with a coffee focused drink menu. While the black building next door would later open as a chef’s table restaurant aimed more for a dinner crowd. The best part in my mind? The restaurant(s) were building a beautiful outdoor space that was practically begging to be photographed.
Well, a few weeks ago call opened its doors + I made my way over for lunch last week. There are vibrant pops of vermilion throughout the space, highlighting the whimsical details that bring character to the clean white lines. The open kitchen gives diners a perfect view of the operation. Of course this was a highlight in my book because I love watching chefs prep food + see all the behind-the-scenes action take place.
In addition to their well-curated but small food menu, there is a large counter with fresh made sandwiches, tartines + mouthwatering desserts. And just this week, call started serving dinner and a small cocktail menu, tuesday thru saturday.
When the weather warms up, I’m sure the spacious patio will be packed with friends grabbing lunch, coffee meetings for business ventures + millennials working away on their devices. Likewise, I will be back soon for another delicious grapefruit tart, while also anticipating call’s sister restaurant, beckon to open its doors.
